The eye

Posted by

I love his attitude - taken at Spier, a haven for birds in distress.

Monique from Koh Samui, Thailand

Paul from summerside, Canada

Proud and gorgeous, a super crop, and image ! Focus on its eyes is really perfect. Well done. In a zoo ?

Incredible shot. The composition and tight framing complements his stoic pose well.

Stunning photo, I love Spier and the rehab centre for the raptors is pretty amazing.

We go regularly to take photo's and have seen some of the birds being released, others have to stay, unfortunately. Often people try to make pets of them, then they can not look after themselves.

Such an intense gaze, well taken!

@Self-Indulgence: Thanks!

Henrik Herskind from Copenhagen, Denmark

What intensity! I wonder if it is really possible to get this very short DOF at 100 mm, f/8.0?

24 Mar 2010 9:19am

@Henrik Herskind: The 10mm macro lens has a very tiny space where it is sharp, even at F22!

k@ from Paris, France

And the feathers too - a damn g°°d shot !

This shot is simply amazing. A shot like this of a bird in the wild would be almost impossible, I think.

10 May 2010 9:24pm

@Andrea: You are quite right, it was taken with my macro lens, it would not be possible1 Thank you!
